The Mountain Belt is a serious piece of leather. Built from Hermann Oak's Old World Harness leather, this heavy duty leather belt is not for fragile hearts and delicate trousers. Purchase the Russet color here. Built as a work horse, not a show horse. It's meant for hard labor and hard use, and wouldn't do well to hold up anything dressy due to it's heavy duty frame.

Due to the nature of drum dyed leather, color may not exactly match the photographed color. But they will always be very close. Expect your leather belt to darken and patina with age and wear. (See below)
Available in a Russet or Dark Brown color that is drummed dyed at Hermann Oak’s tannery in Saint Louis, Missouri. The waxy harness leather tends to resist the intake of the dark brown oil dye, and results in a fantastic antique patina. Accented with a large antiqued solid brass buckle, this belt has an old world class that is timeless. Secured with 2 screw posts, you are able to swap this solid brass buckle out for your favorite buckle with the simple turn of a standard screw driver.
Thank you for supporting independent and hand made.
"How beautiful this was when it was new. And how beautiful it still is, even though time has made it different".

"There's something comforting about knowing the face and name of the craftsman making something for you. An item made to order; however, is particularly whimsical and takes it one step further. Your soon to be special item isn't just sitting on a shelf waiting to be ordered, but instead, exists as raw materials, awaiting your order and a skilled craftsman's touch." Badger and Blade

"Best belt I've ever owned."
"The Mountain Belt is an amazing belt, by far the best and most comfortable belt I’ve owned. Only down side is after a little break in the belt stretched as leather belts do, I started on the center hole and now I’ve moved down a hole and a half. (It just stretched a lot more than I anticipated. )"
"This is a really great belt. I have one in both colors."
"A belt is one of those ubiquitous things that you find in every department and workwear stores. And yet somehow, they always manage to fall short of their brand counterparts buy being made of synthetic or lesser quality materials. And this is where the Mountain Belt out stands the rest; it’s construction is a solid piece of full grain leather and sturdy metal hardware. I am now on my fifth Mountain Belt purchase, and I can proudly say that it is one the finest pieces of American craftsmanship to date. The best, bar none."
"Just received my mountain belt 1. 75 and this thing is worth every penny. This thing is absolutely flawless. Huge thank you to craft and lore for being one of the few businesses in today's world that offers true quality"
"I ordered the Mountain Belt Dark Brown 1. 75 for $135 + $11 shipping = $146. For a jeans belt, that’s not cheap, but it’s a beautiful belt that gets many things right. I’ve never found this quality in a retail store, and I much prefer it over another online quality leather goods store I’ve been ordering from. 1. The leather’s appearance is beautiful. The color is natural (mine was not too dark, and I know it will darken with wear), and the leather finish is natural, not the artificial look of many less expensive belts. 2. They got the buckle right – not the 90-degree corners of a rectangular belt, not too light, not too big, not shiny or cheaply coated with a finish that will wear ugly. It’s an appropriate, good-looking harness belt buckle design of brass with an antique finish that should wear well. 3. The fit using Craft & Lore’s instructions was perfect. Take note, as the Craft & Lore website states, “this heavy duty leather belt is not for fragile hearts and delicate trousers. ” The 13-oz weight is substantial, and if you’re ordering the 1. 75-inch belt, be sure to check your belt loop size. I highly recommend this belt."
"Absolutely love this belt. High quality leather and great craftsmanship combine to make a beautiful belt that’s a pleasure to wear. I had previously purchased a similar belt from a local UK company but returned it the day it arrived because it just didn’t impress me, however no such feelings with Craft and Lore. I got the 1. 75 width which is perfect for jeans and looks great but if you’re planning on wearing it with other trousers I’d suggest the 1. 5 is probably a safer bet. Highly recommended!"
"I've been wearing the mountain belt daily for two months and it's an amazing belt. Sturdy, good lucking and definitely going to last decades. One thing to know is this belt is thick, the description calls out it's think saddle leather but I didn't fully grasp how thick until I put it on. Very much worth the money but don't think you can use this for a dress belt."
"Exellent Belt."
"Mountain Belt was such a good product I purchased another one. One for work and one for the weekend. American craftsmanship."
